Cowboy Channel Interviews Sage Kimzey on Lessons He’s Learned From Other Rodeo Legends

We are used to seeing seven-time World Champion Bull Rider Sage Kimzey inside the arena doing legendary things. But when he is not the one in the arena, he still pays attention to every event.

“I’d say my experience watching a rodeo is probably a little different than most peoples. I’ve got my people in events that I watch,” Kimzey said.
He looks back at his rookie year and remembers the intensity that Cody Ohl brought to the arena, the horsemanship that Sherry Cervi displayed through the barrels and today, the one and only Kaycee Feild is one of Kimzey favorite competitors to watch.
“I felt like I could just take a little thing, competition wise, from all of the real legends and the real greats,” he said.
One thing that Feild and Kimzey are perfecting is being one of the best rodeo athletes in the arena while balancing being a family man.

“It’s been unchartered waters to kind of wade through but it’s been really fun too and at the end of the day, whenever they talk about it being a team with your spouse, I definitely feel that with Alexis and without her I don’t know that I’d be near as successful as I am,” Kimzey said.

Kimzey has been out for the summer run and is keeping everyone updated on his rehab process on his social medias but we look forward to seeing him back in action and being legendary in 2023.
