PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2022 PBR Team Series begins with its season-opener on July 25-26 at Cheyenne Frontier Days (10 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network).

On Monday afternoon, the eight PBR Teams submitted their initial rosters for Cheyenne. Every team will have seven protected roster spots during the season and an additional five practice squad spots to use as they see fit. Meanwhile, teams also have two injured reserve spots for riders unable to compete.

eing on a team’s protected roster means another team cannot sign a rider during the current season unless that rider is released or traded.

The below rosters are subject to change based on free-agent signings, injuries and roster cuts.

Note: a team can also decide to sign a player off an opposing team’s practice squad if it will be signing that rider to its protected roster.

Arizona Ridge Riders:

Luciano De Castro (Protected)
Eduardo Aparecido (Protected)
Marco Eguchi (Protected)
Keyshawn Whitehorse (Protected)
Sandro Batista (Protected)
Vitor Losnake (Protected; unavailable for first five events because of Supplemental Draft status)
Alisson de Souza (Protected)
Koltin Hevalow (Practice Squad)
Josh Steele (Practice Squad)
Ross Freeman (Practice Squad)
Tyce Willis (Practice Squad)
Paulo Lima (Practice Squad)
Mauricio Moreira (Placed on IR on June 29)
Chase Dougherty (Placed on IR on June 29)

Updates: Injuries to Moreira (reconstructive hip surgery) and Dougherty (broken kneecap) opened up the opportunity for the Ridge Riders to add 2019 Velocity Tour champion Alisson de Souza and 2018 Rookie of the Year Keyshawn Whitehorse to their protected roster this summer. Moreira and Dougherty are expected to be out for most of the regular season, so Arizona will not be forced to make a roster move for the time being.

Austin Gamblers:

Jose Vitor Leme (Protected)
Austin Richardson (Protected)
Lucas Divino (Protected)
Claudio Montanha Jr. (Protected)
Conner Halverson (Protected)

Griffin Smeltzer (Practice Squad)
Blake Smith (Practice Squad)
Elijah Mora (Practice Squad)
Alex Marcilio (Practice Squad)

Updates: Austin kept their roster relatively the same throughout the preseason, with its only move being the elevation of Dakota Louis and Ezekiel Mitchell to protected roster spots.

Ariat Texas Rattlers:

Cody Jesus (Protected)
Joao Ricardo Vieira (Protected)
Cody Coverchuk (Protected)
Brady Fielder (Protected)

Braidy Randolph (Practice Squad)
Brady Oleson (Placed on IR on July 17)

Updates: Texas placed Brady Oleson on injured reserve on Sunday because of a left knee injury and promoted two-time and reigning PBR Canada Champion Cody Coverchuk to its protected roster. Oleson hopes to be ready for the Anaheim, California, neutral-site event. The Rattlers also signed Braidy Randolph to their roster Sunday. Randolph, 21, won the NFR Open at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo this past weekend in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Carolina Cowboys:

Daylon Swearingen (Protected)

Cooper Davis (Placed on IR on June 30; unavailable for first five events because of Supplemental Draft Status)

Updates: The Cowboys placed 2016 World Champion Cooper Davis on injured reserve on June 30 as he continues to recover from two surgeries on his left shoulder. Davis was selected by Carolina in the Supplemental Draft and declared that he would be unavailable for the first five events of the season. Meanwhile, General Manager Austin Dillon kept his roster relatively the same except for the additions of Wyatt Rogers and Leonardo Lima to the practice squad in early July.

Kansas City Outlaws:

Dalton Kasel (Protected)
Rafael Henrique dos Santos (Protected)
Bob Mitchell (Protected)
Tate Pollmeier (Protected)
Marcus Mast (Protected)
Cole Melancon (Protected)
Dustin Martinez (Practice Squad)
Sam Woodall (Practice Squad)
Clancy Hart (Practice Squad)
Colton Dougherty (Practice Squad)
Kyler Oliver (Placed on IR on July 17)

Updates: Kansas City could have some additional roster moves as they still have one open protected roster spot available for Cheyenne, and Cole Melancon is expected to be out 3-5 months with a torn groin. Therefore, Kansas City has only five healthy riders on its active roster. Of course, they could turn to their practice squad for some depth, but they also will have the ability to sign a rider off another team’s practice squad if they so choose.

The Outlaws also officially placed Kyler Oliver on IR on Sunday as he continues his recovery from a broken neck.

Missouri Thunder:

Colten Fritzlan (Protected)
Clayton Sellars (Protected)
Cody Teel (Protected)
Andrew Alvidrez (Protected)
Jesse Petri (Protected)
Callum Miller (Protected)
Leandro Machado (Protected)
Adriano Salgado (Practice Squad)
Luke Parkinson (Practice Squad)
Marcelo Procopio Pereira (Placed on IR on July 14)

Updates: The Thunder placed Marcelo Procopio Pereira on injured reserve last week as he continues to recover from reconstructive elbow surgery. Meanwhile, they have kept their roster relatively intact, elevating Callum Miller and Leandro Machado to protected roster spots. The Thunder could also add three riders to its practice squad.

Nashville Stampede:

Dustin Ortiz (Practice Squad)
Dener Barbosa (Placed on IR on July 8)

Updates: The Stampede cut Matt Triplett over the weekend and elevated Lucas Fideles Souza and 2019 PBR Brazil champion Fernando Henrique Novais to its protected roster. Souza will be one of the team’s alternates at events while also serving as a translator for coach Justin McBride.

Oklahoma Freedom:

Eli Vastbinder (Protected)
Derek Kolbaba (Protected)
Chase Outlaw (Protected)
Briggs Madsen (Protected)
Caden Bunch (Protected)
Matt Triplett (Protected)

Deklan Garland (Practice Squad)
Trevor Kastner (Practice Squad)
Kyle McDaniel (Practice Squad)
Jess Lockwood (Placed on IR on July 16; unavailable for first four events because of Supplemental Draft status)

Updates: Oklahoma General Manager Brandon Bates pounced quickly over the weekend when he saw the Stampede cut Triplett. Bates moved two-time World Champion Jess Lockwood to Injured Reserve and signed Triplett to his active roster, increasing the team’s depth with an experienced rider. Oklahoma also cut Dawson Branton from its practice squad on Monday.
